AC Milan are confident that Tottenham Hotspur will allow Emerson Royal to undergo his medical within the next 48 hours, following months of negotiations.
Earlier this summer, the right-back expressed his desire to move to San Siro and agreed on personal terms, but reaching a deal with Tottenham proved to be more challenging.
According to Tuttosport and Tuttomercatoweb, the negotiations are now in the final stages, with a conclusion expected within the next two days.
The transfer fee is reported to be €15 million plus an additional €1-2 million in performance-related bonuses, which may be difficult to achieve. This is a reduction from Tottenham’s original asking price of €18 million plus bonuses, but still higher than Milan’s initial offer.
Emerson Royal has been a long-standing target for Milan. The 25-year-old, who has 10 senior caps for Brazil, has impressed the Rossoneri with his versatility, being able to play as a right-back, in a more advanced role, or even in central defense when needed.
His contract with Tottenham runs until June 2026, but Spurs initially paid €25 million to sign him from Barcelona in the summer of 2021. Emerson Royal has made 101 appearances for Tottenham, scoring four goals and providing two assists.
