New Portsmouth signing Matt Ritchie has vowed to “give everything to make the team better this season” after returning to the club where his career began 16 years ago.
Ritchie, who came through the Pompey academy in 2008, was a fringe player during his initial time at the club, making only seven league appearances over three seasons. After successful loan spells at Dagenham & Redbridge, Notts County, and Swindon Town, he moved permanently to Swindon in 2011. However, Ritchie is best known for his successful spells at Bournemouth and Newcastle United, where he twice helped secure promotion to the Premier League.
