Breaking: Lewis Hamilton acquires Motorsport Team

Lewis Hamilton is reportedly in discussions to acquire an esteemed motorsport team, marking a potential new chapter for the seven-time Formula 1 champion. The news follows a challenging period for Hamilton at the Austrian Grand Prix, where he expressed disappointment over his performance after teammate George Russell’s victory.

After securing his first podium of the season in Barcelona, Hamilton’s fourth-place finish at the Red Bull Ring left him dissatisfied, currently standing eighth in the 2024 drivers’ standings. With his tenure at Mercedes coming to an end and a move to Ferrari scheduled for next year, Hamilton seems poised to explore ventures beyond Formula 1.

According to reports from The Race, Hamilton is engaged in talks with Gresini Racing regarding the acquisition of their satellite Ducati MotoGP team. The team, home to six-time champion Marc Marquez, has attracted Hamilton’s interest, with sources indicating his involvement through a member of his close circle present at the recent Dutch TT in Assen.

This potential foray into MotoGP represents Hamilton’s longstanding affinity for motorcycles, dating back to his youth when he expressed a preference for bikes over cars. Despite his father’s concerns about safety, which led him towards four wheels and a successful career in Formula 1, Hamilton has maintained a passion for motorcycles, even testing Valentino Rossi’s Yamaha M1 in 2019.

Hamilton’s interest in acquiring Gresini Racing underscores his continuing fascination with biking, complementing his collection of motorbikes and occasional track days. As he prepares for a shift from Mercedes to Ferrari in Formula 1, Hamilton appears eager to expand his motorsport ventures into the realm of MotoGP, potentially marking a significant move in his post-Formula 1 career plans.
