BREAKING NEWS: Angeles Star Named in Roberto Clemente Award nominees

The Roberto Clemente Award, regarded as baseball’s highest individual honor for Major Leaguers, is presented annually to the MLB player who exemplifies the sport through outstanding character, community involvement, philanthropy, and positive contributions both on and off the field.
Fans can now vote for the 2024 Roberto Clemente Award presented by Capital One at MLBTogether.com/clemente21 (available in both English and Spanish). The website provides bios of each nominee and will remain open for voting until Sunday, Sept. 29, when the season ends. The fan vote will count as one of the votes in the overall selection process conducted by a blue-ribbon panel.
The tradition of recognizing Major Leaguers for their philanthropic efforts began in 1971 with the Commissioner’s Award. It was renamed the Roberto Clemente Award in 1973 to honor Clemente following his death the previous year.
