BREAKING NEWS: Angels superstar is close to rejoining the Angels’ lineup, just one week before the trade deadline.

Luis Rengifo, who has been sidelined with wrist inflammation since July 3, is batting .315 with an .800 OPS, making him one of the Angels’ top trade assets ahead of the July 30 deadline. The Angels are on the brink of welcoming back their most consistent offensive player of the season.

Rengifo mentioned he would go through a full workout before Monday’s game, including all his usual pre-game routines. When asked if he could be activated as soon as Tuesday, he responded, “Maybe.”

Angels manager Ron Washington was cautiously optimistic about Rengifo’s return, stating, “If Rengifo thinks he can go tomorrow, that’s real good news. We’ll be happy to have him back whenever that is, but right now, we just have to wait and see how he makes it through the whole day today.”

However, Rengifo’s value to the 2024 Angels is limited, as the team is already out of playoff contention.
