Burnley have proposed a swap deal to fellow Championship club Bristol City for star striker Tommy Conway, who appears to be leaving Ashton Gate, according to recent reports.
The Clarets have been active in the summer transfer window as new head coach Scott Parker prepares his squad for a promotion push to the Premier League following last season’s relegation. Strengthening the forward department is a key focus for the club.
Last season, Burnley struggled to score goals. Winger Jacob Bruun Larsen was the top scorer under Vincent Kompany, but he has since returned to Bundesliga club Hoffenheim after his loan spell ended.
Additionally, Dutch striker Wout Weghorst is expected to permanently leave Turf Moor before the transfer window closes at the end of the month. Turkish club Trabzonspor is interested in signing the former Manchester United loanee, with a medical already scheduled.
Manager Parker has indicated he is willing to work with the 31-year-old during pre-season upon his return from vacation, but Weghorst prefers to return to Turkey. Consequently, Burnley needs to bolster their attacking options before the season starts with a trip to Luton Town in less than two weeks.
