BREAKING NEWS: Ipswich Town Manager Confirms Wes Burns is out for the first part of the season due to Injury..

Ipswich Town winger Wes Burns is expected to be sidelined for several weeks due to a hamstring injury sustained during the Blues’ 2-0 loss to Liverpool, manager Kieran McKenna has confirmed.

The 29-year-old Welsh international made his Premier League debut in what was Town’s first top-flight match in 22 years. However, Burns had to leave the game in the 57th minute and was replaced by summer signing Ben Johnson.

“Wes Burns, unfortunately, picked up a hamstring injury last week. We had it scanned, and it looks like he’ll be out for several weeks, missing this game and a few upcoming league fixtures,” McKenna said.

“It’s a setback for both Wes and the team. He started well last week and was adapting to the Premier League’s intensity as we expected. He’s a key player in our system with a unique role and skill set.

“We’ve managed without him before, and the challenge now is to maintain our strength on that side of the pitch. We have other players who can fill the role in different ways, and we’ll work to find the right balance.”
