In recent months, the Los Angeles Lakers have been a hot topic in the NBA, with several controversial moves putting the team’s immediate future in question, despite superstar LeBron James returning on a two-year deal.
After being eliminated in the first round of the NBA playoffs by Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets, the Lakers quickly decided to part ways with head coach Darvin Ham after two seasons.
Following Ham’s departure, the direction of the Lakers’ coaching leadership was uncertain. However, rumors quickly surfaced about the team’s interest in hiring first-time coach JJ Redick. Despite his lack of coaching experience, the Lakers ultimately appointed Redick as head coach.
According to Jovan Buha of The Athletic, the Lakers have now finalized their coaching staff for Redick. To compensate for Redick’s inexperience, the team brought in seasoned assistants, including former head coaches Nate McMillan and Scott Brooks.
Additionally, the Lakers made a notable move by hiring G League Coach of the Year Lindsey Harding, giving her the opportunity to prove herself at the professional level next season.
