BREAKING NEWS: Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout faced a setback on Tuesday during his rehab appearance for the Triple-A Salt Lake Bees

Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout faced a setback on Tuesday during his rehab appearance for the Triple-A Salt Lake Bees. Trout, who has been out since late April due to a torn meniscus in his left knee, was scheduled to play five innings but was pulled after just two due to knee soreness. His status is now considered day-to-day.
On Monday, Angels manager Ron Washington had expressed optimism about Trout’s imminent return to the Angels’ lineup, expecting it to happen within the week. However, this recent development may delay his comeback.
This season, Trout has played in 29 major league games, hitting .220 with 10 home runs, 14 RBIs, and 6 stolen bases.
Although the Angels’ update on Trout’s condition suggests the setback isn’t overly concerning, his injury history raises doubts. Over the last four full seasons, Trout has played more than 100 games only once, with 119 games in 2022.
