
Jansen explained that following Sunday’s 9-6 defeat against the Los Angeles Dodgers, doctors had to “shock” his heart back into rhythm after three prior visits to Colorado.
The most recent incident occurred in 2022 while Jansen was with the Atlanta Braves. Similar episodes happened in 2012 and 2018 during his time with the Dodgers.
“Too many things happened to me there,” Jansen said. “When I went back to Atlanta, issues began again, and a few weeks later, I returned to AFib. I’m trying to avoid that now.
“We’re aiming for the postseason. It’s not a good time to risk things going wrong. If it happens again, it could hurt the team even more.”
