BREAKING NEWS: Phoenix Sun lands another super Talent on a Two- way contract

PHOENIX – The Phoenix Suns have officially signed guard TyTy Washington Jr. to a two-way contract. As per team policy, the terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Standing at 6’3″ and weighing 195 pounds, Washington has appeared in 42 NBA games over two seasons, playing for the Milwaukee Bucks in 2023-24 and the Houston Rockets in 2022-23. He set a career-high with 20 points on February 4, 2023. Last season, he also played with the Wisconsin Herd in the NBA G League, where he ranked 15th in points per game (21.3), eighth in assists (8.3), and 20th in three-point shooting percentage (42.6%). Washington, the 29th overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, previously played for the G League’s Rio Grande Valley Vipers during the 2022-23 season. There, he tied for the league lead with two triple-doubles during the regular season and led the league with an average of 29.8 points in five playoff games.

A native of Phoenix, Washington played one season at the University of Kentucky, earning a spot on the 2021-22 Kyle Macy Freshmen All-America Team. The 22-year-old started his high school career at Phoenix’s Cesar Chavez High School and later transferred to AZ Compass Prep in Chandler, where he was named the 2020-21 MaxPreps Arizona High School Basketball Player of the Year.
