Breaking: Racer Demands Verstappen Ban Following Norris Crash

Another driver has called for Max Verstappen to receive ‘an immediate race ban’ following his involvement in a collision that ended Lando Norris’ race and necessitated repairs to Verstappen’s punctured car.

Verstappen, who had been comfortably leading from pole position, faced a slow pit stop on lap 52, allowing Norris to challenge for the lead. The two drivers had several close encounters as they battled for position.

Norris attempted an inside move, resulting in both cars running off track just before contact occurred, leading to punctures for both drivers and a limping return to the pits.

Verstappen was penalized with a 10-second time penalty for the incident, which pundits and stewards deemed his fault.

British racer Bradley Philpot, a two-time Nürburgring Endurance champion and winner of the 24 Hours of Silverstone, voiced a stronger opinion on the matter. In a statement on X, he argued that Verstappen should face a race ban for his actions.

“Intentionally forcing a car off track after causing a crash, especially while driving with a rear puncture, warrants an immediate race ban,” Philpot wrote.

He criticized Verstappen’s conduct, stating, “Max instigated a collision and then deliberately pushed the car he collided with onto the grass on a straight section.”

Philpot further remarked, “His behavior shows a lack of maturity. He has faced less competition in recent years.”

Verstappen has been known for his aggressive driving style and occasional involvement in incidents since early in his F1 career. Despite his two championship titles, his aggressive tactics have drawn criticism in some instances, including this recent incident with Norris.
