Reese’s Chicago Sky narrowly defeated Clark’s Indiana Fever with a score of 88-87, drawing in 2.3 million viewers on ESPN. At the peak of the game, viewership reached 3.3 million.
Clark and Reese were also instrumental in setting the previous viewership record when 2.25 million people watched Indiana triumph over Chicago 91-83 on June 16, a game broadcasted on CBS, which has a wider reach compared to ESPN by about 12.5 million viewers.
Their first encounter this season on June 1 saw the Fever secure a 71-70 victory over the Sky. The two teams will conclude their four-game season series on August 30.

Clark, the top overall pick in this year’s draft, will have 20 more nationally televised games with the Fever this season. Reese, who was the seventh overall pick in April, has nine more opportunities to showcase her talent on national television.
Currently, the Sky holds a 6-9 record, placing them just above the ninth-place Fever, who stand at 7-11 in the WNBA standings.
