CONFIRMED: Norwich City lands £4 million Deal, medicals schedule to take place..

Norwich City have reached an agreement to sign Forson Amankwah, a midfielder from Red Bull Salzburg. According to Pink Un, the transfer fee is just under £4 million, with additional performance-related bonuses potentially included.

The 21-year-old Ghanaian player was initially reported by Owurako Ampofo to be on his way to the Norfolk club to finalize the move. Norwich’s local news outlet later confirmed that a deal between the two clubs had been secured, and that Amankwah, a player the club has been monitoring for some time, is poised to join Thorup’s squad.

However, Amankwah is not expected to participate in Norwich’s upcoming match against Oxford United. Norwich faced stiff competition for his signature, with several European clubs, including Anderlecht, Sturm Graz, Nordsjaelland, Freiburg, Augsburg, and Stuttgart, expressing interest in the midfielder this summer.

Despite this signing, Norwich is reportedly still in the market for another midfielder following Sara’s departure. However, The Athletic reports that Liverpool’s Bobby Clark, who has been linked to Norwich, is not among the players they are pursuing.

Amankwah has been with RB Salzburg since February 2021, after transferring from the West African Football Academy. While he spent much of his first two years on loan, he has been a more regular part of Salzburg’s first team since early 2023, making over 50 appearances in the Austrian Bundesliga and four in the Champions League over the past two seasons.
