Confirmed: Tottenham’s Next Big Signing Undergoes Medical!

Millwall are poised to secure a significant summer signing following the release of a player from a Premier League club. Japhet Tanganga, formerly of Tottenham Hotspur, is set to rejoin Millwall after his contract with the North London club expired at the end of the 2023/24 season.

Tanganga, who spent the latter part of last season on loan at Millwall, became an instrumental figure under Neil Harris, helping the club fight against relegation. During his loan spell, he made 18 league appearances and scored crucial goals against Southampton and Birmingham City.

On Saturday, Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth shared on social media platform X: “Millwall have agreed a deal for the signing of defender Japhet Tanganga. Tanganga will have a medical on Monday. He spent the second half of last season on loan at Millwall. Tanganga joins as a free agent following his release from Tottenham last month.”

Reports indicate that Tanganga will sign a two-year contract with Millwall, marking a significant acquisition for the Championship club. Although a permanent deal was initially expected in May, it fell through as Tanganga explored other options, with Ipswich Town and Luton Town also expressing interest.

Earlier this year, Tanganga discussed his future, stating, “My focus is to build on from my spell at Millwall, with the number of games I played. You want to be in a position where you’re playing week in, week out, so whether that’s at Spurs or somewhere else, that is something that needs to be discussed in the future and we’ll see where we go from there.”

Tanganga had also expressed enthusiasm for working with Tottenham’s new manager, Ange Postecoglou, and praised his style of football, but this was before his release from the club was confirmed.
