Tottenham Hotspur’s transfer strategy has primarily focused on bringing in young talent, but they are reportedly on the verge of making their first experienced marquee signing of the summer in a deal worth £29 million.
So far, the Lilywhites have added Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall to their squad, two promising players who could significantly impact Ange Postecoglou’s team in the coming years. However, after missing out on Champions League qualification last season, it’s clear that further reinforcements are needed before the transfer window closes next month.
Federico Chiesa, who reportedly earns £150,000 a week, would immediately become the fifth-highest earner at Spurs, behind Heung-min Son, James Maddison, Cristian Romero, and Timo Werner, but ahead of Richarlison and Dejan Kulusevski. Despite his recent injury struggles, Chiesa has previously excelled on the biggest stages and could quickly demonstrate his value.
Signing Chiesa would be a strong statement of intent for Spurs as they aim to secure a spot in the Champions League.
