Everton are reportedly interested in signing Lesley Ugochukwu, a midfielder Chelsea is looking to offload, according to TEAMtalk.
As of August 15, the online publication reported that the Toffees are intensifying their efforts to secure a new midfielder before the transfer window closes. Sean Dyche’s side is closely monitoring the former France U21 international, whom Chelsea has made available for transfer.
Chelsea is open to a loan deal for the 20-year-old, which aligns with Everton’s needs as they have limited funds to spend this transfer window. Ugochukwu joined Chelsea from Stade Rennes just over a year ago, but has only made 15 appearances since then [FotMob]. This is particularly notable considering he was signed for £23.2m from the Ligue 1 club [BBC Sport].
It appears that former Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino did not fully trust or rate the youngster enough to give him regular playing time.
