AC Milan is preparing a new bid for their top midfield target, Youssouf Fofana, which will include a future resale clause. The deal is close, but negotiations with Monaco have been tough, with both sides unwilling to compromise. Milan is aiming to spend around €20m, but Monaco is holding firm at over €30m, despite Fofana’s contract expiring next year.

According to Il Giornale, cited by MilanNews, Milan’s new offer will include €20m plus a 10% resale clause in Monaco’s favor, hoping this sweetens the deal. Fofana has already agreed to a four-year contract with Milan worth €3m per season and is set on joining the Rossoneri, rejecting other offers. However, with the season opener looming and Ismael Bennacer as the only defensive midfielder in the squad, Milan may need to act quickly. Johnny Cardoso has been mentioned as a potential backup option.
