DONE DEAL: Portsmouth lands a Defender on Free Transfer

Portsmouth head coach John Mousinho has confirmed that his team is not pursuing former Leeds United defender Liam Cooper, who remains a free agent, according to recent reports.

Portsmouth recently faced Leeds United in a thrilling 3-3 draw at Elland Road. Despite taking the lead twice, including a stoppage-time penalty, Portsmouth couldn’t secure the win as Brenden Aaronson scored a late equalizer for Leeds.

Mousinho’s side delivered a courageous performance against one of the favorites for Premier League promotion. New signing Elias Sorensen leveled the score after Pascal Struijk’s opener, and Callum Lang’s powerful strike gave Portsmouth the lead at halftime.

However, Wilfried Gnonto quickly equalized for Leeds early in the second half, and while it seemed the match would end in a draw, Lang’s 92nd-minute penalty put Portsmouth ahead once more. Unfortunately for Pompey, Aaronson struck just before the final whistle, ensuring the points were shared.
