DONE DEAL: Tottenham Announce £10m Departure and Archie Gray Transfer

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed the sale of Joe Rodon to Leeds United for £10 million. Meanwhile, Archie Gray has made a high-profile move from Leeds to Spurs.

Gray has signed a six-year contract with Tottenham, keeping him at the club until 2030. The transfer, estimated to be between £25 million and £30 million, came after a potential deal with Brentford fell through. The 18-year-old, son of former Leeds star Andy Gray, was primarily deployed as a right-back last season despite being a natural midfielder. He made 52 appearances for Leeds, starting 47 games and contributing two assists.

Joe Rodon, who spent last season on loan at Leeds, made 50 appearances for the club as they reached the Championship play-off final. During his four years at Tottenham, Rodon played just 24 matches, having joined from Swansea City in October 2020. His final appearance for Spurs was a brief one, coming on late in a 1-0 win over Burnley in May 2022.

Rodon preferred a return to Leeds on a four-year contract despite interest from newly-promoted Premier League clubs Ipswich Town and Leicester City. His transfer coincides with the arrival of Gray, who will don the No.14 shirt at Tottenham.

This move marks Tottenham’s first sale of the summer. Eric Dier, Ivan Perisic, Ryan Sessegnon, Tanguy Ndombele, and Japhet Tanganga all left the club at the end of their contracts last month. Gray is the third new addition for Tottenham this summer under manager Ange Postecoglou, following Timo Werner’s loan return with an option to buy after his brief stint at the club last season.
