Done Deal: West Ham Agrees Personal Terms for Third Summer Signing

West Ham United has reached personal terms with a potential third summer signing, yet the £17 million deal remains problematic.

Manager Julen Lopetegui has already secured Brazilian teenage winger Luis Guilherme and experienced goalkeeper Wes Foderingham this summer. However, he aims to bring in six high-quality new signings, indicating that his recruitment efforts are far from over.

I believe Lopetegui needs even more new arrivals to drive substantial progress at the London Stadium. West Ham requires reinforcements across several positions, including center-back, striker, defensive midfielder, left winger, and potentially a couple of full-backs, depending on any departures.

The summer transfer window has started positively for West Ham, but Lopetegui must accelerate his efforts with the pre-season campaign commencing in about three weeks.

One more signing seems imminent, but a crucial detail still needs resolution.

According to Fanatik, West Ham has agreed on personal terms with Vitoria de Guimaraes winger Jota Silva. However, the Portuguese club’s £17 million asking price for the 24-year-old remains a significant hurdle.

There were reports that West Ham had withdrawn from the race to sign Silva, but this doesn’t appear to be the case. Silva, with his exceptional pace, powerful shot, technical prowess, and work ethic, seems ideal for West Ham.

Last season, Silva was in excellent form in Portugal, scoring 15 goals and providing seven assists for Vitoria de Guimaraes. If West Ham can agree on a fee with Vitoria de Guimaraes, Jota Silva will likely become Lopetegui’s third summer signing.
