Jannik Sinner has now reached the semifinals of all four Grand Slam tournaments, marking a significant milestone in his career. Not only is he the first player born in the 2000s to accomplish this, but he’s also the first male player born since 1990 to achieve the feat.

World No. 1 Sinner secured his spot in the US Open semifinals for the first time after defeating Daniil Medvedev 6-2, 1-6, 6-1, 6-4. Having already reached the semifinals at the Australian Open, Roland Garros, and Wimbledon, this victory completes his collection of semifinal appearances at all four majors.
Born in 2001, Sinner stands out as the fourth active male player to reach the semifinals at all four Grand Slam events, joining elite company:
– Novak Djokovic (11 Australian Open SFs, 12 Roland Garros SFs, 13 Wimbledon SFs, 13 US Open SFs)
– Rafael Nadal (7 Australian Open SFs, 15 Roland Garros SFs, 8 Wimbledon SFs, 8 US Open SFs)
– Marin Cilic (2 Australian Open SFs, 1 Roland Garros SF, 1 Wimbledon SF, 2 US Open SFs)
Carlos Alcaraz is expected to follow in Sinner’s footsteps, with the Australian Open being the only major where he has yet to reach the semifinals.
Sinner, who narrowly missed a US Open semifinal berth two years ago after losing a thrilling five-set match to Carlos Alcaraz, made a commanding run this year, apart from a second-set stumble. He outplayed the former World No. 1 Medvedev with 27 winners and broke his serve five times, securing his place in the final four.
Next up, Sinner will face No. 25 seed Jack Draper, who continued his impressive run by defeating No. 10 seed Alex de Minaur 6-3, 7-5, 6-2. Draper won their only previous encounter in two tiebreaks at Queen’s Club in 2021.
