GOODNEWS: Fulham player to receive second chance from manager

Fulham striker Raúl Jiménez is set to receive a second chance to revive his international career, with manager Javier Aguirre eager to reintegrate him into the team.

According to 365 Scores, the Mexico boss is keen to bring Jiménez and other veterans back into the fold after they were excluded by his predecessor. Aguirre, returning to the Mexican setup for the third time this summer, replaced Jaime Lozano, who was sacked following a disappointing group stage exit at the Copa América.

Lozano had opted for a bold squad selection for the tournament, omitting familiar faces like Jiménez, Guillermo Ochoa, and Hirving Lozano in favor of new players. This decision had been seen as potentially marking the end of their international careers, especially for the 39-year-old Ochoa and the 33-year-old Jiménez.

Jiménez, who has faced a challenging few years after recovering from a serious head injury sustained at Wolves, has not featured for Mexico since November last year and was left out of the squad for their last nine games.

Aguirre aims to change that and plans to bring Jiménez, Lozano, and Ochoa back for the next international break. He has already initiated conversations with the Fulham striker and the other two players, holding initial talks and expressing his intentions to include them in his plans for the upcoming break and even for the 2026 World Cup.

Whether they accept the offer remains to be seen, but the opportunity for their return to the national team is on the table, suggesting their international careers may not be over just yet.
