JUST IN: Angel Reese announce Injury, Out for the Season

Angel Reese’s rookie season has come to an early conclusion after the Chicago Sky forward announced on Saturday that she sustained a season-ending wrist injury. Reese was injured during the Sky’s 92-78 win over the Los Angeles Sparks on Friday, where she tallied yet another double-double performance.

The Sparks also confirmed the extent of the injury, stating that Reese will miss the remainder of the 2024 season due to the wrist issue.

In a heartfelt message on social media, Reese expressed her emotions, saying, “Despite everything, I’ve proven that I belong in this league, even when others doubted me. I’m overwhelmed with emotions about the season-ending injury, but I’m also incredibly grateful for what’s ahead.”

Reese wraps up her rookie campaign with impressive averages of 13.6 points and 13.1 rebounds per game. Earlier this month, she made her mark in WNBA history by surpassing Sylvia Fowles’ single-season rebound record.

This achievement played a key role in her push for Rookie of the Year honors, a tight competition against Indiana Fever standout Caitlin Clark. In their last meeting of the season, the Fever dominated the Sky 100-81, with Clark posting a career-high 31 points.
