According to reports from Turkey, relayed by Sport Witness, Leeds have submitted a bid to sign Fenerbahce winger Ryan Kent. The offer is reportedly valued at €3m (£2.5m) for the 27-year-old, who was previously a target for Leeds during Marcelo Bielsa’s tenure.
Kent first caught Leeds’ interest while excelling at Rangers, and it appears that discussions are ongoing to bring the former Liverpool winger to Yorkshire. Leon Balogun, his former teammate at Ibrox, once described Kent as a “wizard.”
Kent joined Fenerbahce just over a year ago and is under contract until 2027. In his first season in Turkey, he made 19 appearances, scoring once and providing two assists, suggesting a challenging start to his time abroad. However, he may soon have the opportunity to return to the UK with Leeds.
Over his career, Kent has accumulated 64 senior career assists and has Championship experience from loan spells with Barnsley and Bristol City. He was also highly praised by his former boss Steven Gerrard at Rangers. In 2020, Gerrard said: “He is so sharp and he has added a different dimension to his game. He is a pleasure to watch and coach and we just need to enjoy him. He has got the hunger and the desire and he is putting in the application to improve his numbers.”
While a deal for Kent is worth monitoring, some may argue that Leeds require an in-form replacement for Summerville, given that Kent scored only once last season.
