JUST IN: Man Utd is expected to finalize their third INEOS move after reaching a “£59 million swap agreement.”
Manuel Ugarte, a midfielder for Paris Saint-Germain, may be the third player Manchester United names in INEOS’ first transfer window. Joao Neves, a teenage player from Benfica, is allegedly on PSG’s radar. This move puts Ugarte closer to the exit door and lower on Luis Enrique’s pecking order. The 23-year-old is reportedly United’s top midfield target as Erik ten Hag looks to add new talent to join Kobbie Mainoo.
However, it has been stated that PSG has been hesitant to let go of Ugarte for less than £59 million, even though they paid £51 million to sign him from Sporting Lisbon.
PSG has reached an agreement with Benfica for Neves at a set cost of £50 million plus £9 million in add-ons, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Renato Sanches, who completed a £29.5 million transfer to Bayern Munich two years after graduating from Benfica’s academy in 2014, will return to the club as part of the arrangement. According to the source, Neves will go to Paris this week for a medical examination before formally joining PSG.
