Larry Bird officially declares LeBron James as the best player in NBA history.

NBA legend Larry Bird has often been mentioned in discussions about the greatest players in league history. Despite deserving such recognition, Bird remains candid and recently shared his thoughts on LeBron James during an interview with NBA TV.

Bird urged people to “quit whining about LeBron” and appreciate his presence in the game, stating, “Enjoy him while he’s here. He’s unbelievable. He’s one of the greatest, if not the greatest ever.”

LeBron James is frequently compared to Michael Jordan as the greatest basketball player of all time. James, who recently participated in his 20th All-Star game in Indianapolis, posted eight points, four rebounds, and three assists in 14 minutes of play.

One of James’ strongest arguments for greatness is his longevity, having won four NBA championships and surpassing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the league’s all-time scoring leader last year. While James may never match Jordan’s perfect 6-0 record in the NBA Finals, his impressive resume continues to earn him recognition. More and more, veteran players like Bird are acknowledging James’ achievements.

Former player Shane Battier also praised James during an appearance on the Draymond Green podcast. Battier remarked, “As good as you think he was, he was that much better. People debate LeBron or MJ, but LeBron accomplished something twice that I don’t think Michael Jordan could do once—winning two NBA titles with Shane Battier as the starting power forward.”
