Last year, Tottenham faced the sudden departure of Harry Kane just before the Premier League season began, as the club’s all-time leading scorer transferred to Bayern Munich.
Due to the late timing of Kane’s move during the summer transfer window and the challenges of securing a top target in January due to ongoing European competitions, Tottenham has yet to invest in a new striker.
According to Football Insider, Tottenham is currently negotiating with Lille to sign Jonathan David, who scored 26 goals for the French club in all competitions last season (transfermarkt).
The Canadian forward, who has entered the final year of his contract with Lille, is reportedly available for a fee of around £20 million.
