Ozzy Osbourne and Judas Priest Unite for Charity Release of “War Pigs”

Sony Music has unveiled a monumental collaboration that unites two of heavy metal’s most influential forces. Today marks the release of “War Pigs – Charity Version”, a reimagined take on the Black Sabbath classic, featuring Ozzy Osbourne alongside the legendary Judas Priest.

The project carries a cause close to the metal community’s heart: all proceeds will go directly to The Glenn Tipton Parkinson’s Foundation and Cure Parkinson’s, supporting ongoing research and treatment for the disease. Tipton, Judas Priest’s co-founding guitarist, has battled Parkinson’s since being diagnosed in 2008, continuing to inspire fans and fellow musicians with his resilience and dedication to the music.

A Historic Collaboration

While Osbourne and Judas Priest have shared festival stages and tours over the decades, this release marks their first official studio collaboration. “War Pigs,” originally featured on Black Sabbath’s 1970 album Paranoid, is widely regarded as one of the most powerful anti-war anthems in rock history. The new version blends Osbourne’s unmistakable vocals with Judas Priest’s signature twin-guitar attack and thunderous rhythm section, creating a fresh yet faithful tribute to the timeless track.

Giving Back Through Music

In a joint statement, Sony Music emphasized the importance of the project:

“This release is more than a song—it’s a message of unity, strength, and support. Ozzy Osbourne and Judas Priest wanted to honor Glenn Tipton’s courage and give back to the community that has always rallied around them. Every stream, download, and purchase will directly contribute to funding Parkinson’s research.”

Fans React

Within hours of release, metal fans worldwide have flooded social media with praise, calling the track a “dream collaboration” and “a historic moment for heavy metal.” Many expressed admiration for the choice to donate profits to Parkinson’s charities, further cementing the project as a blend of music and meaningful impact.

Looking Ahead

“War Pigs – Charity Version” is available now on all major streaming platforms, with physical copies and limited-edition vinyl expected to follow later this year. For fans of both Black Sabbath and Judas Priest, the release is more than a nostalgic celebration—it’s a chance to stand with Glenn Tipton and millions of others affected by Parkinson’s.
