Prochazka Accuses Pereira of Using “Magic” to Win Fights!

Jiri Prochazka has accused Alex Pereira of using “rituals” to win fights, challenging the light-heavyweight champion to fight without spiritual assistance at UFC 303 in Las Vegas on Saturday.

During a pre-fight news conference, Prochazka addressed claims he made on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Hour, where he suggested Pereira uses “magic and shamans” for aid. The Czech fighter, 31, is looking to avenge his defeat from November, where he lost to the 36-year-old Brazilian in the second round.

“Everyone knows he performs these rituals before the fight,” said Prochazka. “You can feel what’s happening around him. I believe Alex can’t fight without that. My challenge to him is to fight purely, without any external influences… Let the higher power be in the cage to determine the best in pure performance.”

Pereira, who will be making his second title defense, remained calm in response to Prochazka’s comments. “Everyone has their own spirits; we’re not just flesh and bone,” Pereira said. “I have found mine. If he hasn’t found his or doesn’t believe, that’s not my problem.”

The fight will headline the event at the T-Mobile Arena after Conor McGregor withdrew from his bout with Michael Chandler due to a broken toe. This marks the second time in three months that former middleweight champion Pereira has headlined a major event, following his win over Jamahal Hill at UFC 300 in April.
