Son Heung-min has dismissed rumors about leaving Tottenham, stating, “I have so much more I want to accomplish in the Premier League.” Since joining the team in the summer of 2015, the 31-year-old has been a crucial player for the Lilywhites. Recently, there has been speculation about a possible reunion with Jose Mourinho at Fenerbahce.
Mourinho’s appointment in the Turkish capital has sparked rumors linking several players, including Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, with a move to Fenerbahce as he seems poised to leave this summer.
Son was a vital player in Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham squad last season and is expected to be just as important for the 2024/25 season. Although the start of July marks the final year of Son’s current contract, Tottenham reportedly has an option to extend it by another year.
Addressing the ongoing speculation about his future, Son admitted feeling “a little uncomfortable” but pledged to continue giving his best for the north London club.

“I have not had any exchanges with the club,” said the Tottenham captain after South Korea’s narrow 1-0 win over China on Tuesday. “I don’t have anything to say at this point. I feel a little uncomfortable with the situation. I am going to keep doing my best for Tottenham. I still have terms left on my contract.
“Money is not important to me. The most important thing is to play in a league that I enjoy playing in. I have so much more I want to accomplish in the Premier League.”
Tottenham head coach Postecoglou has high aspirations for the club, aiming for his team to regularly compete with the likes of Manchester City, Arsenal, and Liverpool at the top of the Premier League. He also targets strong performances in domestic cup competitions and the Europa League, following Spurs’ qualification for UEFA’s second club competition.
