Vanessa Bryant has settled the lawsuit filed against her by her mother, Sofia Laine. While the specific terms remain confidential, the legal battle is now concluded.

In December 2020, court documents revealed that Laine claimed she had served as an unpaid “longtime personal assistant and nanny” for Vanessa’s family. According to Laine, the late Kobe Bryant had promised to provide for her “for the rest of her life.”

The lawsuit alleged that Vanessa took actions to nullify all promises Kobe had made to Laine, asserting that Vanessa had no intention of honoring any of these commitments.

In response, Vanessa firmly denied her mother’s claims, stating that Kobe never made such promises and that her mother was never employed as a personal assistant or nanny. Vanessa also pointed out that her mother had occasionally babysat her older daughters when they were toddlers, but was never a full-time caregiver.

Vanessa described her mother’s claims as false and expressed frustration over her attempts to seek financial gain from the family. Despite their differences, Vanessa shared that she had tried to resolve the situation with her mother.
