The Boston Red Sox placed second baseman Vaughn Grissom and infielder/outfielder Romy Gonzalez on the 10-day injured list on Sunday due to hamstring strains.
To fill their spots, the Red Sox promoted infielder/outfielder Jamie Westbrook and recalled infielder/outfielder Bobby Dalbec from Triple-A Worcester.
Grissom had previously missed the first 32 games of the season with a left hamstring strain from spring training. He strained his right hamstring while running out a grounder in Saturday’s 6-3 home win over the Detroit Tigers.

Manager Alex Cora mentioned on Sunday that Grissom was undergoing an MRI to assess the injury. He noted that it’s uncertain how long Grissom will be out but indicated the injury might be less severe than his spring training one.
Grissom, 23, is batting .148 (12-for-81) with three RBIs in 23 games. He was acquired by the Red Sox on December 30, 2023, in a trade with the Atlanta Braves for left-hander Chris Sale and cash considerations.
Gonzalez did not injure his left hamstring on any particular play but felt tightness on Saturday, leading to his placement on the injured list.
Gonzalez, 27, is batting .257 (9-for-35) with six RBIs in 17 games in his first season with Boston. He was claimed off waivers from the Chicago White Sox on January 31.
Westbrook, 28, received his first major league call-up after 1,159 games in the minors since 2013. He was hitting .267 with five homers and 29 RBIs in 49 games at Worcester.
Dalbec, 28, is batting .132 (7-for-53) with four RBIs in 22 games this season in Boston. He has eight homers and 21 RBIs in 26 games at Worcester.
In another move, the Red Sox placed right-hander Garrett Whitlock on the 60-day IL. Whitlock, 27, underwent season-ending surgery on his UCL on Wednesday.
