
Nine-year-old racing prospect Lorenzo Somaschini has tragically died following an accident in Brazil. The young Argentine rider suffered a crash last Friday and passed away on Monday.
The Brazilian Superbike Championship expressed “great sadness and grief” over the loss. Somaschini, who competed in the Honda Junior Cup, fell at the Pinheirinho corner at Interlagos. He received immediate medical attention at the scene before being transported to Albert Einstein Hospital in Sao Paulo.

Born in 2014, Somaschini received his first mini-bike at the age of four, sparking his dream of becoming a MotoGP champion. His coach, Diego Pierluigi, paid tribute with heartfelt words: “With a broken heart and my soul thrown away, I have to say goodbye to you. I will miss you so much, Lolito. Thank you for letting me be part of your dream. Rest in peace, champ.”
