Inter Miami has set a £15 million price tag for 21-year-old Paraguayan midfielder Diego Gomez, a target for both West Ham and Brighton & Hove Albion. Brighton had an initial £7 million offer rejected, but the Miami team has lowered its valuation from £20 million. Gomez is reportedly keen on joining Brighton, which has a reputation for developing young players and offers the opportunity to play under manager Fabian Hürzeler.
While Gomez prefers a move to Brighton, Inter Miami’s billionaire owners are not pressured to sell and will only consider offers meeting their valuation. Manager Gerardo Martino acknowledged interest from Brighton and praised Gomez’s quality, suggesting the Premier League club would be a good fit.
Sources indicate Brighton is close to signing Gomez, although nothing is finalized. West Ham must act quickly if they want to secure the deal. Gomez would be an interesting addition to West Ham, bringing pace, power, and athleticism to the midfield. However, the team may need a more defensively sound midfielder, especially considering Edson Alvarez’s suspension record and the departures of Kalvin Phillips and Flynn Downes.
