TRANSFER SAGA: New Developments in £4 Million Norwich City Transfer Saga

The Republic of Ireland international joined Celtic in the latter half of the 2023/24 season and excelled under Brendan Rodgers, scoring nine goals and providing two assists in 19 appearances. His notable performances included a last-minute winner against Rangers in the Scottish Cup final at Hampden Park in May.

After his successful stint at Parkhead, Celtic has been eager to secure his services permanently, a process that has extended for over two months. Early in the summer transfer window, new Norwich City manager Johannes Hoff Thorup expressed his intention to evaluate the 23-year-old during pre-season before making any decisions about his departure.

True to his word, Idah participated in several friendly matches for Norwich City, though he missed their recent game against German side Magdeburg, fueling speculation about his potential exit. BBC Sport reported in early July that Norwich rejected a bid between £4-5 million from Celtic, with sources indicating that the club is not actively seeking to sell him this summer. Instead, Norwich is holding out for an £8 million offer, which has yet to be matched.

However, TEAMtalk disclosed that Celtic faces significant competition for Idah’s signature from Serie A clubs Fiorentina and Hellas Verona. Despite the interest, Norwich will only sell if their valuation is met.
