Warriors to lose another Star Player In Free Agency

Dario Šarić recently completed a productive season, appearing in 64 games for the Golden State Warriors. The experienced forward recorded averages of 8.0 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game while shooting 46.6% from the field and 37.6% from beyond the arc in just 17 minutes of play per contest.

This summer, Šarić will enter free agency, making him available to sign with any NBA team. Notably, during a recent game, Šarić made a three-pointer to narrow the Sacramento Kings’ lead to one point, showcasing his impact on the court.

Last offseason, Šarić signed a minimum contract with the Warriors. Given his solid performance this season, retaining him might be difficult for Golden State. As Chris Dodson of ClutchPoints noted on January 23, the Warriors hold non-Bird Rights on Šarić, limiting their ability to offer him more than 120% of his current salary due to being over the salary cap.

If the market for Šarić remains limited, the Warriors might re-sign him. However, if another team offers him slightly above the minimum salary, the Warriors could lose him.

The 30-year-old, drafted 12th overall in 2014, has played for the Philadelphia 76ers, Minnesota Timberwolves, Oklahoma City Thunder, Golden State Warriors, and Phoenix Suns over seven seasons. His career statistics include averages of 10.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game, with shooting percentages of 44.5% from the field and 36.2% from three-point range across 477 regular-season games. He has also participated in 24 playoff games, starting in ten of them.
