The Slovenian finished one minute, eight seconds ahead of Jonas Vingegaard with six stages remaining, increasing his lead over the Dane to three minutes and nine seconds heading into Monday’s rest day.

Currently sitting over eleven minutes behind (10:54) is Joao Almeida of Portugal. Two Spanish athletes, Mikel Landa (11:21) and Carlos Rodriguez (11:27), complete the top six.
